Pink rose buds are a must-have for any tea lover. Not only do they add a beautiful touch of color and aroma to any tea blend, but they also offer a range of health benefits and medicinal properties. One of the most significant benefits of pink rose buds is their ability to relieve stress and anxiety. These beautiful little flowers are known to have a calming effect on the mind and body, making them an ideal addition to any bedtime tea blend. They also contain high levels of antioxidants, which help to protect the body from free radical damage and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

In addition to their health benefits, pink rose buds are incredibly versatile when it comes to culinary uses. They can be used to flavor a range of dishes, including desserts, baked goods, and even savory dishes like stews and curries. They are also commonly used to make rose water, which is a popular ingredient in many Middle Eastern and Indian cuisines.

When it comes to brewing pink rose buds, it's important to use water that is just below boiling temperature, around 190-200°F. This will help to extract the full flavor and aroma of the buds without causing any bitterness. To prepare the buds, simply add a tablespoon of dried pink rose buds to a teapot or infuser and pour the hot water over them. Let the tea steep for 5-7 minutes before straining and enjoying.

Overall, pink rose buds are a beautiful and beneficial addition to any tea collection or culinary repertoire. Their delicate flavor and aroma, combined with their many health benefits and uses, make them a must-have for any tea or food enthusiast.

COMMON NAME Standardized: Cabbage rose Other: Provence rose

BOTANICAL NAME Rosa centifolia Plant Family: Rosaceae

OVERVIEW The pink rose buds has been valued for its beauty and its perfume for thousands of years. Because rose oil deteriorates rapidly with exposure to sun and wind, the content is highest on the first morning when the flower opens. Rose petals picked for distillation are picked manually, day by day, at or just before sunrise.

CONSTITUENTS The distinctive scent of the rose derived from acyclic monoterpene alcohols, geraniol (up to 75%), citronellol (20%) and nerol (20%), and long-chain hydrocarbons like nonadecane or heneicosane (up to 10%). An important trace component of rose oil is beta-damascenone. Even though this chemical makes up only 0.01% of the weight of the rose, its presence or absence determines the appeal of the rose.
